Welcome to February, the month of love – and the Super Bowl. With Super Bowl LII in town all eyes are on the North Star State. While some people are sad that the Vikings aren’t playing, there are still lots of things to celebrate. We thought we’d share some of our favorite things about this great state.
Lakes Lakes Lakes
There are 10,000 reasons to love Minnesota, no matter the season. Boating, swimming, jet skiing, hockey, ice fishing – lakes provide year-round entertainment. Everyone has their special lake; for me it’s Medicine Lake in Plymouth or Lake Vermillion.
Minnesota State Fair
Minnesota is home to one of the largest fairs in the country, with food that can’t be beat. Each year the event brings out new eats, drinks, and sights to see. The Great Minnesota Get-Together highlights our love for community and supporting local businesses, which brings me to my next point.
Craft Beer
Minnesotans love their local craft beer. Breweries and taprooms have popped up all over the state. Their labor of love is something everyone in Minnesota can be proud of.
Minnesota Nice
It’s not just a saying. Minnesota has the nicest people. Minnesotans are hardy folks who love to help one another. The truth of this is in our charming, inviting communities where everyone says “Hello.” Being friendly is just in the blood.
Love from Around the Office
We asked the Prime Team to share what they love about Minnesota. Below are a few responses and a picture gallery of some of our favorite photos.
Julie Shay (Lifelong Resident): The lakes! The weather – yes, I know it gets really cold and really hot but that’s what I love… you can never get bored with it ‘cause it’s always changing! The fact that I don’t need to worry about hurricanes or earthquakes or volcanos. The scenery – no matter where you are, there is something beautiful to view. The Minnesota Twins! And how proud Minnesotans are of Minnesota. 😊
Taylor Brown (Lifelong Resident): Life on the lake during the summer. 😊
Megan Huziel (Lifelong Resident): Big city, small town vibes! I love the small arts and music communities. Everyone is connected in some way or another.
Shauna Smart (Lifelong Resident): Summer. Summer at the lake.
Garrett Eichhorn (6-Year Resident): Craft beer and biking.
Suzanne Budde (31-Year Resident): My favorite thing about living in Minnesota is that you can have a New York quality night at the Theater one night and, within 30 minutes of our state’s capital, still witness the timeless work ethic of a farmer on horseback riding their fence line with a dog following close behind. BEAUTIFUL!
Minnesota is the best place to live AND to find 100 reasons for “stay-cations” right in your own backyard.
MacKenzie Kush (Lifelong Resident): My favorite part about Minnesota is the outdoors! The seasons allow us to enjoy a variety of fun outdoor activities!
Sara Biren (Lifelong Resident): There are too many to list! I love the landscapes in all four seasons. Minnesota is so beautiful with its rivers, woodlands, bluffs, prairies, and of course our 11,852 lakes.
Krysta Mohs (Lifelong Resident): My favorite part about living in Minnesota is all the seasons. Could do with a little less winter, though! 😉 I also love all the beautiful lakes and scenery for camping trips.
Allison Benson (6-Year Resident): I love Twins games, the Minnesota State Fair, and all the events that happen around Minnesota. Plus, who doesn’t love the all the lakes!
Minnesota is a great place to live and work, and we’re happy to share it with everyone. There are so many more great things about Minnesota. Share with us what YOU love about Minnesota!
