A quarter of a century.
The blink of an eye.
In 1993, Bill Clinton succeeded George H.W. Bush as the 42nd President of the United States. The Dallas Cowboys won their third NFL Championship. Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, Martha Stewart Living, and Late Night with Conan O’Brien premiered on TV. Cheers aired its series finale after eleven seasons and 275 episodes (raise your hand if you’ve seen them all). Jurassic Park was the year’s highest-grossing film. Everyone and their mother read The Bridges of Madison County by Robert James Waller. 1993 brought us Intel Pentium processors, Beanie Babies, and Zima.
And Mark J. Murray, President and CEO, founded Prime Advertising & Design.
Mark was a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth, working for the family business, when he was inspired to strike out on his own and find a way to help local businesses with their print and advertising needs. What began with business cards and hand-laminated menus (created on PageMaker!) soon evolved when the City of Loretto approached Mark to create what would become Prime’s first community guide for the Northwest Suburban area.
The Evolution of Prime Advertising
As times and technology have changed over the last twenty-five years, so have the services and capabilities Prime offers. We’ve had four logos and six addresses, all in Maple Grove, and the team has grown from a single employee to more than 40. We serve local, national, and international clients as a full-service, award-winning marketing firm. While we can still supply your business cards and we now produce Community Guides and newsletters that serve 25 cities and Chambers of Commerce, we’ve broadened our services to truly meet every marketing need, from web design and development to search engine optimization and social media.
What hasn’t changed? The energy and enthusiasm we bring to every project. Our level of commitment to our clients and our communities. The unique experience and skills of the Prime team to combine technology, marketing, and business acumen to best serve our clients and truly meet their needs.
Celebrate with Prime
We’re excited to celebrate our anniversary with you this year, and we’ve got a lot of fun in the works. Stay tuned for the story of our special emblem celebrating our 25th anniversary, an in-depth interview with Mark, flashbacks to 1993, and so much more. And cake. Of course we’ll have cake.
We hope you’ll come along for the ride.
