Get set for five days of fun when the 2022 Maple Grove Days festivities kick off on July 13. The Maple Grove Community Organization (MGCO) has once again packed in a host of events that focus on community, offering a little bit of everything for everyone. So, mark your calendar and prepare to celebrate everything Maple Grove has to offer.
Maple Grove Days Offers So Many Events
Things get (rockin’ and) rolling on Wednesday, July 13, with a performance from E-Street Shuffle & Detroit Muscle. Mick Sterling takes the stage to deliver tributes to the musical stylings of Bruce Springsteen and Bob Seger. This event is co-presented by Maple Grove Parks & Recreation and Beyond the Yellow Ribbon (BTYR). BTYR will also honor active and veteran military members and their families.
After that, expect several days of the same size, scope, and variety of events you’ve come to know and love at Maple Grove Days. Enjoy Bed Races and the Business Expo, fitness events and obstacle courses, games and contests for all ages, and entertainment on many stages. And you’re sure to find plenty of food, fun, and even fireworks at this year’s celebration. See the full list of events to plan ahead and be sure you don’t miss a thing.
As always, the Maple Grove Days Parade is a huge draw, led this year by Grand Marshal Lisa Jost. The parade route again runs along 89th Avenue from Zachary Lane to Elm Creek Boulevard. Visit the MGCO website for details and safety requests for this event.
The New-Look MGCO
If you’ve followed MGCO since its inception, you probably noticed a new look and fresh vibe this year. The organization updated its logo and its website, which now lets users navigate with ease.
Established in 1988, MGCO has built itself upon two objectives: to bolster heritage and cultivate pride within the Maple Grove community. The organization sought to bring together residents, businesses, and institutions to promote events and establish tradition with celebrations like Maple Grove Days.
MGCO Vice President Sarah Anderson called Maple Grove Days a “gift to the community.” The days-long event is a party to celebrate Maple Grove’s residents, businesses, and growth over the past 3-plus decades. And none of it would be possible without community involvement.
MGCO: Made Up of Valuable Volunteers
Each year, more than 300 valuable volunteers give their time and energy to the Maple Grove community. Together, they commit 1,200-plus hours of service to breathe life into planning, implementing, and monitoring the Maple Grove Days events.
From the very first meeting to post-event teardown and clean up, every facet of this event is powered by volunteers who take pride in giving back. The altruism of so many in the community is the beating heart of this annual celebration.
You, too, can get involved and give back. MGCO provides plenty of opportunities for volunteers to serve on committees, work behind the scenes, and help with events and activities. In addition, you’ll meet great people, learn new skills, develop connections and contacts, and have fun. Visit the MGCO website to learn more and sign up.
Spectacular Sponsors are Instrumental
Community sponsors are instrumental to the success of Maple Grove Days, too. Sponsorship opportunities offer benefits at each level and allow many of the events to be offered free to the public. Local businesses and other community members contribute to the event in various ways, most often through financial or merchandise contributions or with labor support.
Learn more about sponsorships and how you can contribute to this community celebration on the MGCO website.
How PRIME is Pitching In
Prime® Advertising + Design is once again a gold sponsor for and proud to provide all the volunteer, committee, and Jim Deane Memorial Rice Lake Classic Run shirts for this year’s event. Come visit us at the Business Expo from 10 am-3 pm Saturday, July 16.
In addition, PRIME created and published the Maple Grove Days Official 2022 Event Guide, distributed to local businesses and residents. The publication highlights all the aspects that make up this community celebration and a detailed schedule of events. In it you’ll also find spotlights on local businesses and community members as well as valuable information on and ways to support MGCO.
