When we put out the search for a new Account Manager, it didn’t take long to fill the position. With her background, experience, and friendly demeanor, Rochelle Dockery is fitting right in at PRIME. And that’s no surprise, since this role was tailor made for her.
Taking Advantage of This Custom-Fit Opportunity
In her new role, Rochelle will connect with the community, building partnerships with clients to identify goals and understand their needs. From there, she and the PRIME Team will customize a strategy to meet those needs and help each unique business grow and succeed.
In her own words, Rochelle has “been an account manager forever.” That experience, coupled with her digital marketing firm (more on that in a bit), made this a custom-fit opportunity —both for Rochelle and for PRIME.
In Search of a Fun Career
Born and raised in Chicago, Rochelle wasn’t sure what she might do when she got older. “Honestly, I didn’t really have huge dreams,” she said.
At one point, she thought she might become a doctor. “I thought it would be super cool to be a surgeon,” she explained. “And then once I got into it and realized, ‘Oh, this is probably not going to be what I thought,’ I backed out of that direction.”
But Rochelle always knew she wanted a “fun” career.
“Whenever I look at people who have fun jobs, it was always people in marketing,” she said. And so began the journey.
Creating Her Path in Marketing
Rochelle went to school in Chicago and at St. Paul College, where she studied marketing. Before joining PRIME, she worked as a freelancer with her own digital marketing agency.
“I was creating websites and helping with branding and logos. I did a lot of social media,” she explained.
And her company? She started it sort of on a whim.
Rochelle was helping friends and family with social media, websites, and marketing ideas — and then COVID-19 hit. “When the pandemic happened,” she started, “I got bored. And I was like, ‘You know what? I’m just going to start a business.’”
So, she did. No big deal. She clearly knows how to make things happen.
Life Away from Work
Away from work, Rochelle enjoys hanging out in her circle. “I like to catch up with my family, my friends, my boyfriend,” she said. She also has a 10-year-old son with whom she cherishes spending time.
“I like yoga. I love hosting and I love cooking,” she added. “And I love making my family and friends try my new recipes.” Many of those recipes are vegetarian dishes, she said.
And she joked that her diners often seem indifferent to her meat-free creations, though their plates are clean. “I think they secretly like it,” she said.
Happy to Be Part of the PRIME Team
Now that she’s part of the PRIME Team, Rochelle is ready to dive in. “I love to help; I love new projects. And I love things that are challenging,” she said.
And she’s elated to work for a marketing agency with deep community roots and a collaborative, cohesive crew.
“I’m excited to be here and excited to work with the people here,” she said. “Everyone is genuinely friendly and connected with each other. I love it so far.”
We’re just as excited that Rochelle Dockery is fitting right in at PRIME. Please help us welcome her. And look for great things from our newest Account Manager as well as the rest of our talented team.
