What does 30 years mean to you? For some it’s the age they got engaged, had their first child, or ran their first marathon. For Maple Grove Community Organization (MGCO), 30 years is a legacy of community involvement. Their thirty-year history is best captured in the countless smiles their events have put on faces young and old. Maple Grove Days 2018 will be no exception.
Are you ready? Maple Grove Days is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, take in the games and entertainment, and support local businesses.
Flash back to 1988 when MGCO volunteers brought the first parade to the growing Twin Cities suburb and sparked community pride throughout the city. September of 1989, Maple Grove’s Kiddie Parade delighted children on the streets from the old MG library to the post office. The following year, spectators gathered along Elm Creek Blvd to watch the first full parade. MGCO added more events to the excitement, and the official Maple Grove Days celebration began in 1990. The parade route has changed over the years to accommodate the traffic of a growing city, but the tradition continues.
