With a national event such as this, advertisers see a very large window of opportunity. Advertising revenue is predicted to increase by 6.4% this year which can be partly contributed to the huge amount of spending that stems from this event. Companies such as Nike, Samsung, and Activia have all jumped on the World Cup bandwagon: and rightfully so. According to Google Inc. ad viewership for the 2014 World Cup has already surpassed this year’s Super Bowl by four times the amount of views in just one week.
